Hopefully this solution will work for u and will save u some time... Synology Assistance reported 'verification failed / error code 384' when attempting to map stations from DS to windows explorer on a laptop with clean install of WIN10. I figured out that this error code popped-up in Synology Assistance due to incorrect SMB-settings in my DS. It was set to the older protocol SMB1, which is an unsafe protocol that is no longer allowed by my (latest) version of WIN10pro. Follow these steps to correct this : - Go to your webbrowser en Log on to your DS - Go to: configuration > file-services > (SMB/AFP/NFS) - Go to advanced settings at SMB - Set 'maximum SMB-protocol' to SMB3. Set 'minimum SMB-protocol' to SMB2. (anyway: ensure that 'maximum SMB-protocol' is NOT set to SMB1) Best of Luck !
