Hi folks,

J'ai récemment changé de portable. Je suis sous Win8.1 (merci au soft "Classic Shell").
Je viens de remarquer que les informations "taille sur le disque" des mes lecteurs réseau sur mon beau NAS était complétement farfelu.
Voir ci-dessous les captures d'écran.



Avez-vous la même chose sous DSM4.3 ?? Ou je doit m'inquiéter de l'état du volume sur mon NAS ?

Merci pour les liens. J'avais utiliser la fonction recherche, mais apparemment pas avec les bons mots clés.

Dans tous les cas j'ai ouvert un ticket chez Syno. Peut-être le problème est-il réglé avec DSM5 ?

Different system could display less of more capacity for the same hard disk drive. It's caused by decimal and binary calculation way. Just like this:

I’m well aware about the different way of counting bits (I’m a digital designer). But if your are more carefully looking the snapshots attached to this email, you will see that there is an ISSUE with the samba information.

- ‘Taille’ (‘Size’ in French) is 14.3Go (Win8.jpg), which is correct according to FileStation.jpg.

- ‘Taille sur le disque’ (‘Size on disk’ in French) is 1.88To!! This is completely wrong!!? We are not talking about 1000bytes or 1024bytes way of counting.

There is x133 factor between ‘Size’ and ‘Size’ on disk. This is definitely a bug between Samba share and Win8.

From the search I’ve done, it seems (not sure, and I cannot test it. You must test it on your side) this problem arises with a volume created with DSM 3.x, and then the NAS is upgraded to DSM 4.x.

If the volume is created under DSM 4.x, then you don’t have the problem.

La première réponse est très rarement recherchée ou correcte, elle sert juste à tenir le délais de 24h ...

Es-tu dans le cas du volume créé en DSM 3.x ?

Oui je suis dans ce cas là. J'ai acheté mon NAS en avril 2011, puis l'est configuré en SHR (en prévision de remplacer 2 des mes 4 disques par des plus gros).

Thanks for your feedback and sorry for my misunderstanding.

After confirming with our SMB engineer, this is a known issue and he is fixing it. The fixing will be expected to be included in the official DSM5.0 released next month. So you could update DSM at that time as a solution.

Donc, pour les non-anglophones, ils sont au courant du problème et cela devrait être corrigé avec DSM5. Je leur ai demandé s'ils comptaient corriger le problème aussi sous DSM4.3.

J'ai eu une réponse finale. Apriori le fixe devrait être implémenté dans l'update 1 de DSM 4.3-3827, ainsi que dans la version finale de DSM 5.0.
